The Retention, Outreach and Inclusive Student Services team, we would like to invite you to the “First Generation College Celebration” that will take place on Tuesday, March 12 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Margaret Tiplady Burgess Courtyard.
This celebration is being hosted by ROI in conjunction with the national celebration of first-generation college students. Last November, the Council for Opportunity in Education’s Board, in partnership with the Center for First-generation Student Success of NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, asked college access and success professionals to join with TRIO programs across the country for the First Annual First-Generation College Celebration on November 8, 2017 — the Anniversary of the Higher Education Act (https://firstgen.naspa.org/events/2018-first-generation-college-celebration).
Our first annual celebration here on campus will include an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to build community and pride in sharing their first generation success stories. Part of the program will include an “Open-Mic” story sharing, as well as games, food and a photo booth! Attached is a flyer with more information – please feel free to display this in your centers as you wish, to help us spread the word and encourage student attendance.
Thank you, and we hope to see you there!
CSUCI Student Leadership Programs would like to invite you to apply to participate in the Spring 2019 Leadership Retreat.
The purpose of the retreat is to empower and educate students about the significance of understanding self, leadership, emotional intelligence, teamwork and self-authorship, discipline, networking, and mentorship. This retreat is designed to build the foundation for effective, inclusive, and innovative leadership.
If you have any questions you can contact Kem French, Coordinator of Student Leadership Programs at firstname.lastname@example.org or 805-437-1669.
March 2 is a couple days away, have you filed your 2019-2020 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)?
Several factors hinge on applying by the priority deadline of March 2, 2019. Financial aid funds may be limited; priority is usually one of the requirements for eligibility of certain funds.
Housing & Residential Education uses the March 2 priority deadline as one of the factors to be eligible for Housing Deposit Fee Deferral; you can review the other factors by clicking on the link for Housing Deposit Fee Deferral. Many scholarships also require that you file your FAFSA by the March 2 priority deadline.
So do not delay, tell your friends, tell your parents, tell the neighbor. File your FAFSA right away!
If you have any questions or need assistance, you may contact or visit the Financial Aid & Scholarships office at CSUCI in Sage Hall, or contact them a call at (805) 437-8530.
Feel free to contact me, and I will make sure you are connected to the right resources on campus.
